It was obviously a joke. Nobody in their right mind would kill a person like Assange with a drone strike, it makes absolutely zero logistical sense. If you're gonna take out a cat like that, you send some hitters in. Poison him, shoot him, strangle him and hang him up with a suicide note, etc. Not no goddamn UAV.

I have no doubt they've already attempted to kill him with no success. We drone strike sovereign nations all the time (with no declaration of war) so its within the realm of possibilities but its unlikely like you said.

:patrice:Is this his "October surprise" or is he just baiting us? Personally, I'm not sure if I even believe everything Wikileaks produces is factual, they could be just making thus shot up as they go.

I'll skip with my HRC hate for this thread and focus on another issue.

Joke or not, do guys not have a problem with people in power playing God and threatening to drone strike dissidents? I think thats a very slippery and dangerous slope to go down.

What's the point in power if you can't do that ?

This really isn't comedic since she's essentially saying she wants to kill opposition to the government. This is the kind of thing that the Soviet Union had to deal with the KGB, and still has to deal with to an extent.

I didn't realize she was the Punisher. Please go on...
I mean, I could if you want

During Clinton’s tenure between January 2009 and February 2013, the CIA conducted 294 drone strikes that killed 2,192 people, 226 of whom were civilians. (For the data, see here, which is based on averages within the ranges provided by the New America Foundation, Long Wars Journal and the Bureau of Investigative Journalism.)

In other words, of the 294 CIA drone strikes in Pakistan, Clinton’s State Department objected to fewer than 1 percent of them.

The people of Pakistan probably would call her the Punisher.

“Between January 2012 and February 2013,” The Intercept reported, “U.S. special operations airstrikes killed more than 200 people. Of those, only 35 were the intended targets. During one five-month period of the operation, according to the documents, nearly 90 percent of the people killed in airstrikes were not the intended targets.”

We dig deep enough on anyone running for any office beyond Mayoral and there's dirt and the higher you're profile, the more people gun for you. Most wealthy or powerful people have done lots of shyt to build and maintain what they have. Neither her or Trump are the ideal candidates, but at least she would know how to do the job set in front of her. PS Asange gets no love from me. He's a pot stirrer with no allegiances and solutions to problems he unearths. He's a glorified basement dwelller who's good at finding secrets

I'm not sure if this one is more stupidity, but I don't think dead Syrians care about semantics

In 2012, Clinton was the obstacle, not the solution, to a ceasefire being negotiated by UN Special Envoy Kofi Annan. It was US intransigence - Clinton’s intransigence - that led to the failure of Annan’s peace efforts in the spring of 2012, a point well known among diplomats. Despite Clinton’s insinuation in the Milwaukee debate, there was (of course) no 2012 ceasefire, only escalating carnage. Clinton bears heavy responsibility for that carnage, which has by now displaced more than 10 million Syrians and left more than 250,000 dead.
