I think it was a calculated warning. This looks like the Trump m.o. all over again, honestly.

A useful idiot is an asset.

There is a distinction.

Here's an example: Glenn Greenwald has regularly shown to be a useful idiot when it comes to Trump/Russian meddling. He's obviously not a Russian asset. However, his hatred for the intelligence community and foreign policy establishment has compromised his ability to objectively evaluate that situation.

Is there that much of a difference? Even if she’s just a useful idiot how do you explain her consistent for Russia and them doing propaganda for her, which she tacitly accepts knowing about their election meddling efforts?

She's a crypto-Republican, her caping is more about Trump/GOP than Russia specifically. How many times can she conflate "both sides" before you understand her schtick? That's why she dismissed the Mueller report, initially dismissed an impeachment inquiry, and why she regularly goes on Fox News and both sides all issues. Her behavior isn't exactly new.

I don’t think she’s a crypto-Republican or even if she was that’s why she capes for Russia.

Her Russia apologism can’t be simply explained away as Republican politics. I don’t buy your claim that this is simply “bothsides-ism” shtick. Why would that be the one thing she’s super Republican on?

She refuses to acknowledge and/or condemn Russian election interference.

How do you explain her hiring lobbyist Chris Cooper to her campaign who was funded by
Natalia Veselnitskaya (Russian lawyer who met with Don Jr. in the hotel) who worked to try and repeal the Magnitsky Act?

Plus her political positions are in lockstep with Russian geopolitical interests, not Republican positions on issues, and Russian state media has been doing puff pieces on her for 2-3 years.
