bout to watch now.

edit; near the end now. This shyt should not have been labeled a horror film. Absolutely nothing was scary about this. Like breh above said its hard to tell what was plot and what was symbolism.

Plus this shyt was just boring

Breh I’m mad I wasted an AMC gift card I had over this shĩt

Y’all seen/heard about the alternate ending? I think that one makes way more sense than what they went with. Not as wild but more grounded in real life

I came in expecting to hate, but this shyt was actually good???? What was it about this movie that nikkas hated? Tyriq and Marlon killed it and the symbolism for each day or lesson was on point. Maybe because it wasn't straight horror and more of a psychological thriller with horror elements???

There's a good 40 mins or so in this.

And a bad 45 or so mins.

And probably needed 20 more mins of shyt in between to stitch it all together.

Not a bad idea for a movie, but they fumbled the execution big time

6/10
Agreed I give it a 4/10

The execution was that bad and that ending... 🤢 so cheezy it completely fell flat

Marlon was excellent

The Mrs and I watched this last night and we both thought it was a 12-pack of ass. Whilst it was beautifully shot with some great set design, the fundamental elements of telling a story was missing from this film.

It doesn’t do any work to establish the narrative of the story other than showing you a series of events that leads to Tyriq’s character ending up at the camp with Marlon’s character.

The film doesn’t explain anything but tries to dress up its lack of a plot with some very on the nose symbolism and allegorical dialogue between the characters. The finale of the film just falls flat because nothing was built up towards it and the reveal means absolutely nothing because, as I said, the film did nothing to establish a narrative.

This is legitimately one of the worst films I’ve seen for a while because it could have easily been so much better with just even the smallest amount of effort from the writers. I really want to see the story boarding that went into this film because I don’t understand how this was made without a real through-line.

Honestly this movie wasn't poorly acted.

The script and direction was just shyt.
My thoughts exactly. The acting was good, some very cool shots, but script was terrible. Being abstract for abstract sake never works, it’s just a jumbled mess. Especially in film.

There was no story or build up to anything. The concept is decent but the execution was horrible. It was nonsensical from beginning to the end.

Edit: I will say the symbolism of the NFL and how professional sports system in general abuses the athlete at the end was somewhat poignant. But it needed more a lead up for it to hit harder.
