HIMYM Spin off "How I Met Your Father" in the works?

A "How I Met Your Mother" spinoff is in the works, according to Deadline.

There had been chatter of continuing the long-running CBS sitcom following its finale this spring, but now Deadline reports "HIMYM" co-creators Carter Bays and Craig Thomas are working with Emily Spivey on "How I Met Your Father."

The proposed spinoff will feature a new group of friends and chronicle a female member's journey to meet her future husband. Deadline reports the new characters could be introduced in the "How I Met Your Mother" series finale. MacLaren's Pub may also be featured on the potential "How I Met Your Mother" spinoff to tie "Mother" with "How I Met Your Father."

Bays, Thomas and Spivey will co-write and executive produce the spinoff.

its like dudes watched breaking bad, said fukk it we will do the exact opposite, run a somewhat cliche idea into the ground with bad writing, and then make a spin off with the terrible idea of making the same series again

Barney was the only redeeming quality of that show mostly because it meant they could parade bad broads around all of the time. I don't wanna see someone get smutted up.

The ONLY spin-off I wanna see is the kids of Ted being fully grown having to go to a therapist weekly to try to cure the mental trauma inflicted on them at a young age by their lame ass father constantly telling them simp ass stories of his simp life... and somewhere in that how he met their mother.

Would be a good idea for a finale episode. But to have a show around that would be too much.

Its crazy they wont just let certain shows end. They might as well just keep HIMYM running and turn it into a regular couples sitcom.

yeah that's true. Barney a role model for us all. for all we know he might end up being the real father of those kids on some I don't give a fukk attitude. hopefully they end everything right. can't do a Barney spin-off cuz he be boring married. and Marshall and Lilly might not work on spin-off if they in Europe regardless.

The kids they cut to filmed all their scenes in season 1.. so we wouldnt be able to cut to them, also why the fukk would those kids wanna hear how she met Ted when he just finished telling them how he met her..

"Dad just told us the entire story mom, yellow umbrella, train station, he still has feelings for robin, we got it."
