Kinda. All Indian religions and beliefs are lumped together with Hinduism today, but "vedic" religions are only those that view vedas as absolute authority while others dont.
The term Brahmanism is used sometimes to make that distinction.
I think that the religious practices BCE were also more hierarchical. Buddhism developed to challenge that hierarchy and led to some religious reforms.
