honestly i dont see any rappers able to speak to this moment. a lot of people got jacked off that killer mike speech in st louis but he made a huge error that makes me discount him and almost put him in the smart/dumb nikka category.

black people havebeen sold out at every opportunity in american progress. from the new deal to obama care. racism is at the hart of this thing. buy these young radical nikkaz think its just class. killer mike is very passionate and articulate. but any nikka that get up there and dont call out racism from whites at every level, liberal or whatever is suspect to me.

I disagree, I feel like Mike was on point 100%.

I think it only registers as "smart dumb" because it only seems smart up until it gets to the part where the rhetoric stops sounding like a repeat of some shyt from the late 80's. We can't keep repeating the way we respond to things and expecting different results.

In fact i'll say that whoever it is that picks up that "new ice cube" mantel at whatever point will probably embody the exact same message that Killer Mike was pushing. People looked at it as him trying to downplay the racial aspect when the truth is he simply understands the game for what it REALLY is. It's about race to the SYSTEM, not to us. The social construct of racism in and of itself is a tool of the system (machine). The fact that american police have become the gestapo isn't a just a "black" issue but the media will make it look like that for ratings and diversion. As long as people continue to frame the argument in duality(black/white) the system of white supremacy has fail safe.

But you morons refuse "young Ice Cube's" left and right. Saigon tried. Killer Mike i think spent a year even referring to himself as some variation of Ice Cube, even recording a pity duet with Flab'Shea but it took a Ginger from Company Flow for him to gain traction beyond the high brow chitlin circuit.

Hip Hop could REALLY use a cleansing of all cornballs. That's really what hip hop could use.

Agreed with all this except the fukk Cube talk.

What's funny is cats will read the bold part and think you're talking about just the cornball artists. :mjpls:

The fans are responsible for the lack of a positive message in rap. Y'all been voting with your wallets and social media accounts. The pop garbage on the radio is a reflection of what y'all are into. These rappers aren't taking risks cuz y'all won't support it.

Same cats mad at Young Thug for not caring about Ferguson can't stop themselves from promoting him. Jay-Z is bad for the Black community? :aicmon: There will be a 1000 page thread on the next track he drops.

Nas been trying to give y'all depth for forever. Fans want him to make IWW2 so they can hear him be a gangsta drug dealer on wax again. :rudy:

I finally caught up with the times and checked out that Bobby Smurda clown.:scusthov: Y'all made him famous for dancing like a woman.

fukk all of y'all.
