Nah I think hip hop turned more from emcees and b boys. to hype beasts and bloggers. before it was trying to show off skills. now it's who gets the most tuned up on the gram. and who gets the most likes.
in a way you're right but also we get way too much new music these days. we've got new mixtapes and songs at our disposal every week and theres no anticipating a new album like it used to be
if anything its all about music sales now and not making a classic album
