As an MC 'words are your weapons' ...... everyone is rapping now from justin bieber to miley cyrus. These mixtapes are full of just rhymes, there is no groundbreaking lyricism or mic cadence in the form of illmatic/wu/etc.
So if you are yet to drop an album but got a dozen mixtapes you dont have shyt to say and you dont respect the craft, you're looking for promo and in it for the money and fame.
Once upon a time, a rapper would not waste his '16 bars' ..... now you got so much mediocre rhymes coming from a bunch of no good MC's you cant sort out the good shyt from trash.
Mixtapes is the reason, you are not a serious MC and have a bunch of mixtapes you are just a mere rapper. There have been no classic albums, no classic lyrics ... even great artist of past are now content babbling.

Some currently unknown rapper will come in and take over the game like 50 in 2002 and Drake in 2009. Fans will clamor for the album just to be disappointed like usual by most new wonders. Lyrics will be how a song is judged not a hot hook and a beat. Radio actually starts playing rap music instead of what's hot on the charts.
