it's like all these nikkas got the memo not to say shyt at a time when a revolutionary spirit is sweeping black America. They promote all type of deviance and debauchery 24/7 now they have all gone silent outside of a few. There was a time when hip hop was the voice of the streets, now it is the voice of corporate America.

As far as on an individual basis It might be that some would rather do than say.

It might also be that some prefer to put those thoughts into words and are working on art right now to express it.

For those that do fit your description though, man... :pachaha: these cats' reputations are carefully curated, I bet some of them are waiting to see what rap heavyweights say first (Jay, Diddy, etc) so they don't fall on the wrong side of history

And alot of them are "massa"'s bytch and don't speak unless they're given permission and briefings first

You also have to consider that these rappers don't own the media platforms they speak on. So it could be that whenever they got some anti-establishment shyt to say, the mic gets cut off so to speak... but when it's superficial/ fukk shyt, or some degrading type shyt goin on, they get a bullhorn...

It feels like alot of the older guard have spoken on this

Its just the young nikkas who have been quiet. Prolly cause they too dumb to even have a opinion on it

The last time I remember shyt like this was in 2018 with Saheed Vassell near my apartment on Utica Ave, with Freddie Gray in 2015, and with Mike Brown in 2014.

But I'm 35, I remember seeing Rodney King getting beat by cops at 7/8 years old on TV.

:wow:

Alot this is just not new to me. Im sick of it seemingly being a constant to being black in America and wondering if it wiol ever change.

For the younger generation that came of age in the Obama years this is a cruel wake up call.
