hip hop/rap music is evolving/changing. but i wouldnt say it is changing to something better. and it is very likely the zenith of hip hop/rap was around 3 decades ago.
This is the truth when we talking about the combination of quality & commercial success of the top sellers.

And I will say the commercial aspect of rap peaked in the mid to late 2000’s. Preeminent artists during that era being the 50 Cents, Kanyes, Weezys, etc.

After 2007, the genre itself has seen ebbs and flows and the rap game has been flooded with musical b*stards of the aforementioned artists

There’s a lot of quality shyt tho if you don’t focus solely on what’s mainstream

Exactly. And let's say you focused on rap post 2000, you wouldn't place the zenith of rap at today either.

Who cares? What’s the obsession with a “zenith” and comparing new eras to the past?

It’s not even fresh discussions it’s the same threads about the same albums and events from the same artists echo chamber of repetitive conversations.

Nah. I listened to ever song you posted and it wasn't outright garbage but it's nothing I'll listen to again.
That's cuz he posting corny shyt. He think corny music gonna win the old heads over cause new shyt is too gangsta. But the hottest shyt been gangsta since the late 80s, it's not finna stop now.

4 different sounds, no cornball shyt. Hip hop is doing just fine, but oldheads who haven't been outside in over a decade just wanna live in the times they was. Is what it is

This shyt is much better than what the other dude posted but it's interesting you said they were all different sounds cause they sounded alike to me. Not anything I'd need to listen to again. Maybe I'd run the tee grizzley again.

I feel like it's rare for a new rapper to be able to rap really well and regularly say slick shyt. What was the last classic album to drop from a rapper that debuted after 2010?

People can’t register anymore?
Can someone expound on this?
Curious to know the reasoning, how long it’s been, etc.

I think registration has been closed since May last year, and it was only open for a short period of time, open usally once a year iirc. Since there's (probably) a Black majority on thecoli there are a lot of trolls who wait to create a ton of accounts and cycle through them when they get banned. I bet the mods just decided it wasn't worth the headache, and I agree.

2010’s was dope as shyt too in retrospect :snoop:

So many moments, albums, tapes, movements, artists, so many styles, so much accessibility to music from the mixtape sites all the way up to streaming
