"Capital P Capital H" is tuff. "Laffy Taffy" go in too. That's one of those songs you could play at a Bar B Que around the old folks who ain't really into Rap and it's safe enough for some of the babies to listen to

No its wack because the values amd importance of it goes over yall heads and you think its just about feel good vibes. When we know what it could be and the reality of how its supposed to sound when real nikkas take the time to put it together. Now any shytty nikka can write a shytty song and get rich. As long as it has the same rudimentary familiarity you idiots gobble it up. Its not good music. Its pop bullshyt and you young fukks thinl the culture is all about you. When it use it represent for all of us.

Mainstream rap is on a whole other level than it EVER was & most of it is extremely disposable in the internet age. Producers are killing it but for rappers nowadays it's very easy to be garbage as fukk and get "put on" as long as you got the right image and a social media following. It's a different playing field :manny:.

The newer generation can be just as great as any other decade when it's all said and done but due to the accessibility of everything in the modern-day internet era, theres a hell of a lot more music out there that's even more accessible than it's ever been and a lot of mainstream shyt that is pushed out & promoted is extremely manufactured by labels & corporations. There's always been whack rappers, copycats, biters, etc. in every decade, but back then "the rap game" wasn't as huge as it is now & the music industry was much more structured & contained... whereas in 2016, we can literally see millions of rappers out here on the internet all trying to be heard & the industry itself doesn't even know how to contain the internet effect, and is only just now adapting. It's a much more accessible & over-populated playing field than it has ever been. Every generation will have their greats and their moments, but ours is much much larger & more diluted. The quality of music is still there if you can sift through the sea of bullshyt that's pumped out & thrown in our faces 24/7

I'm :dead: at people criticizing the 90's by bringing up rappers nobody really gave a fukk about.

"You guys criticize Young Thug....but what about the time Shaq went platinum!" :mjlol:

Shaq got a pass because he had artists and producers everyone was fukking with on his projects. That's literally it. Nobody gave a fukk about him, specifically. If you came in the room talking about Shaq is dope people would laugh in your face.

As far as the thread....old heads ain't gotta like new rappers. Young people ain't gotta care, either.

But this isn't your generation's music. I've said this a million times. If you want to get defensive about old heads criticizing it, create your own genre. The shyt is 40 years old. It started in the late 70's, and you're complaining about old heads talking about it. The fukk. :what:

Pound for pound, music is supposed to get sharper and more artistic with time, not more brain-dead.

It's equivalent to a race having a negative birthrate.

And the irony is, the artists young fans prop up as a counterpoint, are only good because they represent the opposite of what oldheads are talking about
