i know this one guy he makes beats and produces and shyt but all of his shyt is straight loops yet he says he's choppin'. i thought choppin' was when you take somethin' whether it be a sample or a snare and make it into sometin' else different to where you can even't notice the sample in the beat. like what public enemy's bomb squad did with their production back in the day

i don't know, any of you hip hop producers care to add your 2 cents?

you can loop chops, so yea its okay

You chop loops out of larger ones, or make new loops with two small pieces.

So many different ways to play with sound, it's all good at the end of the day. You still gotta cut that waveform and paste it into something else...doesn't matter if it's 15 seconds long or 2.77 seconds.
