Hip Hop Single Sales: The Weeknd, Drake & Macklemore
Drake’s “Hotline Bling” gets knocked off the top due to a colossal spike in sales from The Weeknd.

by Henry Mansell

There are just two changes within the Top 10 of the R&B/Hip Hop single sales chart this week with Drake’s reign at the top with “Hotline Bling” lasting just seven days. After just one week away from the top spot, The Weeknd finds himself back atop of the chart with his single “The Hills.” Elsewhere, Nelly’s Jeremih-assisted single “The Fix” comes in at #9 while Drake’s “Right Hand” slips to #12.

The Weeknd Retakes #1 Spot
After being knocked off the top spot by Drake last week, a 93% increase in sales meant The Weeknd returned to #1 this week for this single “The Hills.” The monumental spike in sales likely came from the exposure remixes from Eminem and Nicki Minaj gave the single, which sold 189,029 units during the seven days leading to October 15.

Drake’s “Hotline Bling” Slips
Drake’s “Hotline Bling” fell to #2 this week following an impressive set of sales from The Weeknd. During the seven days leading to October 15, “Hotline Bling” moved 118,837, a slight 2% decrease on the 121,049 sold last week.

Macklemore Stays Rooted At #3
For the second week in a row, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis’ “Downtown” has landed at #3. The single sold 69,068 units during the seven days leading to October 15, taking its total sales since official release to 534,288.

I knew that song with Nelly and Jeremih was a hit the moment I heard it

Nelly making hits and Ja Rule got a MTV show in 2015 meanwhile my Godfather is stuck in an actual negative space:mjcry: I can't take these harsh realities anymore

Your Godfather forgot to....
