Just being real. Dont hate the south. Its not they fault. Hate those ol :old: mad :flabbynsick: music legends suing the fucc out of every artist/producer who uses 4 seconds of their old dusty forgetten ass song to make a hip hop classic :wow:

As good as beats can be from scratch andusing synth etc.., they're going to sound the same, just because its only so many sounds u can use and only so much shyt u can add to a trap beat before it becames unrapable and juts some EDM shyt that you might as well play solo without and lyrics on it.

With the "death" of samplin the south did good with finding a new sound(trap) and the west doing their thing them hyphy/mustard sound. Even midwest got the drill sound going. But still, its not enough to replace G Funk, or Gritty NY boom bap, or old southern records from the 90s.

You dont feel they should be compensated for their work??

If you just sampling a bunch of different samples(sounds) and put them together, thats something different..:ehh:

Off the top of my head, Anita Baker is one of the few who dont clear samples..And maybe Sade..

Cats are only getting sued when they dont go thru the proper setup to clear the record..

Some obscure European prog rock group would be :blessed:if a nikka decided to sample off of them and put bread into their pockets..

I think someone from Cash Money or David Banner said this and it was a double-edged sword..

They could spend 5k to make a record and it could go platinum..The difference was they had people on the beats who cared for hip hop..

Ringtone rap was the era where the "disposable"music really ramped up..

Labels are taking that approach now with no regard to the actual music being made..

They got compensated when the producer bought their record.

I think Sade on the contrary joked that she is probably the cheapest when it comes to being sampled. She is more strict with doing features with rap(we know she has done none) but samples she is watever about.

Sade Turned Down Jay-Z Collabo Because She's 'Scared'

Sade does say, though, that she is down to have her music sampled -- and for a cheap price.

One 21st century music business convention she does acknowledge enjoying is sampling. "When it comes to sample clearances, I'm probably the cheapest chick in the west," she says, quite amused by that idea.

i miss sampling but a lot of producers today don't have that old soul. producers are young. they don't know about the 70s and 80s which is where most sampling came from. I love the 90s and some 2k music but its not really sample worthy

people should record themselves play and then sample that to give it that feel.
