Tupac - Hip Hop Genius

L823564504094.JPG

As big in death as he was in life, Tupac Shakur has become a martyr of gangsta rap. Lest his legacy outshine his lifetime accomplishments, this documentary tells the whole story of one of rap`s most contentious figures. After getting his start as a member of the incomparable Digital Underground, Tupac made waves with his debut, 2PACALYPSE NOW, augmented by his highly praised appearance in the film JUICE. His prodigious talent and prolific career were undercut, however, by his troubles with the law, and he spent as much time behind bars as he did behind the microphone. Tupac`s outlaw status and his much-publicized beef with the Notorious B.I.G. only made him more popular with his fans, however, making his death--especially as his shooter was never caught--a tragedy of monumental proportions. Comprised of previously unseen footage and interviews with those close to the star--including friends, colleagues, journalists, producers and musicians--this release attempts to present the truth about this controversial artist.

The Guy Fisher Story

Guy Thomas Fisher (born 1947) is a convicted racketeer who was once part of "The Council", a notorious African-American crime organization that controlled the heroin trade in Harlem from 1972-1983. He became the first black man to own and operate the Apollo Theater in Harlem when he purchased it in 1977.[1] Fisher is currently serving a life sentence at the United States Penitentiary, Tucson in Arizona.

The Alpo Story

images

With his buddies AZ and Rich Porter, Alpo rose to become one of New York’s top drug kingpins in the 1980s. This documentary traces the life and career of the young man dubbed the unofficial “Mayor of Harlem.” Business smarts and hard work led to street fame and enormous fortune for the friends, but when flashy Porter neglected to pay money he owed to the more unassuming Alpo, the rift in their partnership led to betrayal, murder and prison.Eagerly anticipated story about the most popular guy in the most trend-setting part of the world…Harlem. As a young boy growing up in Harlem, Alpo and his friends (AZ & Rich Porter from GAME OVER) took advantage of a power vacuum in the drug game after the head kingpins from the ’70s were either killed or incarcerated. Through business savvy (offering the lowest drug prices in town), hard work (on the streets at 5:30am), and charismatic public relations (their civic generosity included bi-annual bbq’s and 4th of July celebrations that everyone was invited to) Alpo became the unofficial “Mayor of Harlem”. Watch as ambition turns to greed, which leads to murder.
