Facts. It’s been dead for me since 2022.

Are we just getting old or is hip hop getting trash?
Kanye, Drake, and Travis Scott all made music by hogging up resources and all three are dead commercially. That's what we're feeling right now. All the rappers and producers that would have been cultivating their fanbases and furthering their craft instead got more money selling stuff up the river instead of down.

All the investment that came into a Kanye, Drake or Travis project, all the people flown out, all the studio time paid for etc is all on hold right now because those three can't turn those expenses into profits anymore.

The industry waiting for someone new to go viral and be the new wave, but the problem now being all this other music feels so cheap (it is) and uninspired it cannot stack up to what the big budget music was doing. The slide is real.

And of course it has to mention - all the good Gen Z rappers got killed :why:

The rap industry is in the bed it made for itself.

Hip Hop is now revisionist history, Mainstream been dead but indie artists are dropping non stop. Now you got to really search for the music.
This right here. Its so much new music dropping underground it's crazy. People seriously need to be lead around by the nose or wait for the crowd to tell them what to listen to. Underground R&B and hip-hop is thriving right now. Majors are struggling to find stars b/c everyone knows the shyt is rigged. fukk the majors just do it yourself.

Doesn’t bother me since I know what to look for :manny: These artists locked in fukked up contracts take too long to drop music anyway.

You have to go out and look for yourself now. With the way music is curated, it allows for even more garbage to get hot.

I ain't gone lie though. It's not easy to find artist yourself. Especially with so many other things in life taking up our time nowadays.

Problem is

Social Media allowed every city and every state the benefit to upload they trash music which over flooded the industry with the same shyt and talentless people

Rap has become a quick buck with no results from the people trying to do it

I remember when u had alot of cali, NY rappers then u bring in Houston, Chicago philly, next then miami and Atlanta had a few artists,, then some other cities had some artists

But now u got 50 nikkas in Milwaukee, Nebraska, Portland, phoenix, etc etc who are all rappers and they sound like shyt and nobody is telling these motherfukkers to get a 9-5

Social media made it easier for everyone to have an opinion too. It’s all about debates instead of music. Artists are also terrified to drop music and flop.

To me this is the correct answer you gotta look for the new releases you didnt have to 20 years ago...they was everywhere on radio,TV etc...
