First Take is done imo because they won't be able to create a compelling dynamic since Stephen A. respected Skip as a senior and (former) journalist. This respect afforded to Skip was at the cost of Stephen A's own juice, but he was getting bread off the show and Skip is well-versed in debate so he was clearly ok with it.

Stephen A. is a good sport, but I don't see him just playing nice with someone inexperienced as his counterpart on the show.

On top of all of that Molly is trash as she can't relate to anyone and actually detracts from the show.

Skip's 1st and 10 segments blowing up and becoming popular is what made them blow up the old format and turn the show into First Take. That was well before SAS became a permanent cohost.

Money is what made them do it, not Skip. Downsizing to First Take saved them almost three quarters of Cold Pizza's budget at first. The show didn't show real growth in its ratings until they more frequently pitted Skip against Stephen A (early 2012), which is why they made the latter a permanent fixture.

They're both going to miss each other professionally, going forward, in all likelihood. Bayless is going to bomb at Fox and Stephen A ain't going to find someone who trolls hard enough to play off him back on ESPN.

SAS probably will leave FT the same time Skip does. They usually take a few weeks off after the Finals and I bet SAS doesn't come back after that break. He's been getting the first spot during the 6 PM Sportscenter and even hosted it a few times and will probably do a lot more NFL now since they implemented him in the NFL Countdown stuff last season and Mort is gone. FT will audition hosts until after Labor day when they have to pick someone for the new TV season, probably gets cut down to an hour and they move His/Hers up an hour...

NBC AND FOX took two assets from ESPN. Espn offered both nice deals to stay but they still bounced.

Don't get me started on Bill platform gaining more steam than ESPN expected. Dude good friends with Adam Corrola who monetized the fukk outta his podcast and he put Bill on. I agree with you on Skip, FS1 has no audience. I can't stand SAS but he will be fine, ESPN has already been putting him all over their other shows(Gameday, NFL Countdown), I'd imagine they will amp up his presence even more to justify that ridiculous salary.

Show was excellent but they gave him the timeslot of death. opposite the news or wheel of fortune in the slot before prime time to sabotage him.
it was the precursor sabotage to the same way they treated Arsenio in his time slot.
