gonzo is Hispanic? I thought he was black. Anyways, I'm no expert on L.A. gang culture but maybe one of the posters from over there can enlighten me. So a black family moves into a Latino gang neighborhood and experiences discrimination and is forced out? Is the opposite true out there? I never been to L.A. But it seems like a very separated city. Blacks stick to their area and Hispanics to theirs. Even amongst each other they don't integrate together due to gang fighting or whatever. So it's not surprising the incident that occurred considering the history of gangs and the culture over there. Mexicans and blacks been fighting in L.A.for a while now from what I've heard. Don't know if that died down. If it were in another city or not gang related then I'd agree but given the circumstances of the incident, I'd disagree with the racism. No gang wants outsiders invading into their turf especially those they don't know or could trust. I wouldn't classify Hispanics as racists based on that incident. Just like I wouldn't do the same for blacks or say they can't be trusted. I'll give an example. Recently at my job I had a kid come in and walk out with two cartons of cigarettes. Today, two ladies walked out with diapers and a bag with a few other things. They were all black. Of course I'm not gonna look at every black person as a potential shoplifter since other races have been known to steal before. I could be focusing on the black costumer and the white one is in the next aisle stealing something. I blame this more on gang violence than racism.

Dominicans and Puerto Ricans have been and will always be my nikkas....never had any issues with them and we walked hand in hand where I grew up.

Can't speak on Mexicans though :yeshrug:

White supremacy is very strong in Latin America even though the colorlines are more blurred than the US. The Spainards used white supremacy and taught it in order to have absolute power to pillage and oppress people for free labor. One of the ways to do that was to constantly reinforce how inferior black and indigenous people were. So when a Latin immigrant, especially a poor one comes to the US, some carry that colonialism and classism with them. I would venture to say not all of them but a good chunk do. Plus, no offense but some Mexican just discriminate everyone that isn't Mexican. Growing up in Houston, I felt that Non-mexican discrimination first hand.

I also find it ironic how many racist dikkhead complain about being stereotyped while being stereotyping at the same time. Latino/Hispanic is not a race and if you assume it is, you are just plain retarded

It is true.

Their offensive term for us is mayate.

They will listen to rap and even love 2pac in many areas yet still be racist against us.

It makes no sense
because youre a moron and human complexities are too much for your mind to comprehend. some of them like black and some of them dont. but your mind is too busy trying to put all of them in one box

this is a caste system, like a totem pole where white is permanently fixed at the top and everyone else is competing for the remaining slots underneath. Everyone wants to emulate what the top of the totem pole is doing which is mistreating people based on the color of their skin, the darker the skin, the worse the treatment.
the caste system in india isnt based on skin tone. :snoop:
