edit: yeah I'm watching the show right now.. its pretty melodramatic. I'd like to see a different take on the bible to keep it interesting.. I've seen these stories a billion times.. this shyt ain't new

It's interesting. If you have background knowledge of Christianity it's cool to see how they translate your back in the day Sunday school stories onto the tv screen. I will say they are playing it too safe with the violence it could stand a bit more gore. I will also say it seems like they are rushing the mini stories. But overall out of 5 stars I give it 4... I'm geeked out about it tho.

Regardless of if the stories are real or not, no other book has had a more significant impact on the development of western civilization.

That would have been a more appropriate topic for The History Channel to have covered. That I would watch. Problem is nobody else would.

This right here is a ratings grab. Plain and simple. Which is typical of The History Channel as of late.

Or maybe a special on how most of the stories out of the Bible are retellings of older religions, lifted and recycled.

But then again this isn't 'Know the Ledge'

So I'll drop it!

Best bible related film I've ever seen was The Last Temptation of Christ.


and that was only because they portrayed Jesus as a reg normal dude and didn't put him on this pedestal where folks hung onto his every word. In real life everyone would have gave him the face everytime he opened his mouth


Everyone thought he was insane in that movie and it felt more realistic because of that.
