The question is, why would any civilian need an assault weapon(even with a certification)? What are the circumstances that would require an assault weapon? zombie apocalypse? chimpanzee uprising? alien invasion? Let the military handle that. And if you don't trust the military/government, then should we arm civilians with tanks, mortars, and nuclear codes....just in case?

There are thousands of "assault weapons" owned by thousands of owners. Yet. how many owners are going on shooting sprees? In the thousands? No. Why? Is it because they are responsible citizens? Yes.

You can say, "x number of people have died or been injured from assault weapon attacks. I am completely outraged." Right?
I can say, "x times y number of people have died and or been injured from DUI-related accidents. That's exponentially more deaths than assault weapon deaths per year, every year. And yet, you aren't outraged." What, I'm not allowed to say that? Sandy Hook massacre in 2012 resulted in the deaths of 20 children. Awful story. All 20 dead in one day, in one place. Now, every year, hundreds of children die in DUI-related accidents. But not just in one year, every year, and in the hundreds. In 2013, 200 children died in DUI-related accidents, but all on different days, in different places. No outrage. Zero outrage. Obama didn't even make one mention or cried a tear. Hmm, why?

I could ask this question, why would any civilian need to drink alcohol(even if they are of drinking age)? What are the circumstances that would require alcoholic beverages? Wedding? Party? Funeral? Dinner? Oh, but we have laws on DUI, you are not allowed to drink and drive or you will get arrested and put into jail. That hasn't stopped any DUI-accidents. And not only did children die in DUI-related accidents but adults have died also in DUI-related accidents. Way more than 50 deaths and 53 injuries, every year. Where is the outrage? There isn't any is the answer because the liberal agenda doesn't care about DUI-related deaths because it is not on their political agenda. No one on Facebook posts a special flag for DUI-related deaths.

I could get on my soapbox, just like you, and say the best thing for America is to get rid of alcoholic beverages to prevent future DUI-related accidents. Oh, so now you want to tell me how people should be allowed to drink alcoholic beverages in a recreational way because we live in America and we have our liberties and the government shouldn't impose laws on the freedoms of citizens? Thousands of Americans drink alcohol in a responsible manner. Hmm, that argument sounds vaguely familiar. Doesn't it?

I believe that Americans have the liberty to drink alcohol responsibly and own guns responsibly.

And like I said, you have zero outrage related to DUI-related deaths because your anti-gun beliefs are a political agenda. If someone dies because they were shot with an assault rifle, you care. If they die because of other reasons, you don't care.
