u cant tour off no damn 1 or 2 hit records....at least not forever. One great album ensures financial stability for life pretty much i.e Smiff n Wessun are eating way better than some roach like Hurricaine Chris or JKwon

You're stating the obvious, but there are plenty of threads here where we discuss things other than our personal feelings towards music.

This thread is about how some artist are looked at unfavorable by hiphop heads because their albums don't stack up to the greats

The point I'm making is an artist that has hit records will have a better career and opportunities than an artist that drops albums that resonate with hiphop .

I think K.dot is about to drop an amazing album but, I bet most rappers would rather have Futures run than Lamar

Futures run was a combination of classic projects and hits though,of course you'd rather have that run:pachaha:

But would anybody rather have the Stanky Leg nikkas hit over Kendricks classic album:laff:?

albums that have him moving millions of units,in Beats by Dre commercials, and doing Reebok deals:stopitslime:

Whos going to get more money to perform once the "hit" wears itself out, somebody with classic material who can perform for a hour:wow:?Or a nikka who can perform a hit for 5 minutes somewhere?Besides if you have a classic album it probably has a hit or 2 on it anyway.

Lets just agree it depends on the level of hit,the number of hits, just like it depends on the level of classic album, and number of classic albums.

neither.

if i had to chose, i'd take stanky leg since its only 4 minutes.

im not saying gkmc was wack. its a nice little album that i could go the rest of my life without ever listening to again. that classic talk was blatant manufacturing. not a good example breh.

you think tyga still getting money off "rack city" :mjlol: Was that even a top 5 billboard hit? Hit records only
Get you as far as u Can tour off them. Unless you write a Chirstmas song like jingle bells and own the publishing "hit records don't create long money. Meanwhile Illmatic sells 100k a year and bad can eat for life off publishing. If he owns it

depends on the volume of the hit.

sir mix-a-lot would like to have a word with you.

Right but most classics albums I could think of actually sold. Especially in the source 5 mic era

ehh.

most of those albums that got 5 mics out the gate, didnt sell all that. some didnt do good in sales at all.
