let's go over some of the hip-hop's most popular works that have verses that are over 16 bars

Haven't listened in awhile but if my memory serves me correctly "Real Slim Shady" verses were all 24 bars as well

Add-on and I'll let you know what's the strategic basis behind this after a couple post, it's usually a certain type of song that has this. There's a major reason behind it, this will be a great thread for Coli artists

Ya I'd have to agree that there's nothing strategic about it..I rap so sometimes I feel I have to make the verse longer to get the jist of the song..other times I mis-count bars and they turn out longer....other times I just want to rap longer..

You're observing a different era, a time when the marketplace for hip-hop was far more primitive and there wasn't even any hip-hop radio stations and thus the music wasn't made with the intention of being released through a hip-hop outlet. Many people saw it as a fad and an extension of disco music

Ya but sometimes artists want to be or who they are mysterious...if not, then that's why me and most people get tired of artists, because we know them so well and every rhyme is expected .if you dont have nothing new to add and nothing else to say, just retire..unless you have a self realization..
