Hitler is more popular in India than Ghandi.

“A general belief seems to prevail in the colony that the Indians are little better, if
at all, than the savages or natives of Africa. Even the children are taught to
believe in that manner, with the result that the Indian is being dragged down to
the position of a raw Kaffir.” (Reference: The Collected Works of Mahatma Gandhi, Government of India (CWMG), Vol I, p. 150)

Regarding forcible registration with the state of blacks: “One can understand the
necessity for registration of Kaffirs who will not work.” (Reference: CWMG, Vol I, p. 105)

“Why, of all places in Johannesburg, the Indian Location should be chosen for
dumping down all the Kaffirs of the town passes my comprehension…the Town
Council must withdraw the Kaffirs from the Location.” (Reference: CWMG, Vol I, pp. 244-245)

His description of black inmates: “Only a degree removed from the animal.” Also,
“Kaffirs are as a rule uncivilized – the convicts even more so. They are troublesome,
very dirty and live almost like animals.” – Mar. 7, 1908 (Reference: CWMG, Vol VIII, pp. 135-136)

Gandhi became a Sgt. Major in the British Army and eagerly participated in the 1906 British war against the black Zulus.

Look a here c00n, we are as justified if not more so at making generalizations about other races. we aren't inferior, stop thinking like that :youngsabo:

There is no justification for it no matter how you look at it. Noone is inferior or superior. It's just a matter of giving respect so you can expect respect

Ghandi supposedly changed his views later in life, when he became "Ghandi".

Like Abraham Lincoln didn't care about slavery until later on in his presidency, when he had his "come to Jesus" moment and took up slavery as a moral cause.

You gotta understand, EVERY historical figure pretty much started off as a fukk up. And pretty much ALL of them were racist as hell up until the past few years.

You can find fukked up shyt about every historical figure, even MLK, Malcolm X, Huey Newton, Bob Marley, etc. . .

This is all true, but it's also true that he gave up these views later on, when he became the "Gandhi" that we all know now. He actually maintained correspondance with Black civil rights leaders in the US for a while and fully supported Black empowerment in the US. It's important to note these facts, but it's also important not to confuse a young, ignorant Gandhi with the later Gandhi, the same way it's important not to confuse the reformist, mild, Dr. King of his earlier days with the almost revolutionary Dr. King before his death, or the early, NOI Malcolm with the later, more complex and thoughtful Malcolm, etc. Most of these leaders start out ignorant in some way.

I don't see the appeal, it's different but not better, and they are filthy people. I'd probably lose 30lbs if I stayed there two weeks, not eating a damn thing cause I know the food wouldn't be prepared with any type of sanitary care :scusthov:

A co-worker of mine just came back from living in India for about a year recently and he lost about 30 lbs. He said he didn't keep any food in the house because the place would be swarmed with roaches. He would go eat out at some restaurant or market everyday.

That show Monsters Inside Me on Discovery (or is it Animal Planet?) has got me shook to eat or swim in any country with subpar food safety and environmental standards...too many stories about people eating a salad and having worms eat their brain 8 years later.

India is filthy in many areas from what I understand, but dudes are acting like many parts of sub-saharan Africa aren't the same. I know people who have been to Africa mostly on missions and talked about how it stinks and people are shytting out in the open in alleys and in the streams they bathe in and it's generally filthy and unhygienic. But like you said, that's not the whole continent.

People who live in impoverished developing nations generally tend to have bad health and hygiene standards. Gee, what a shock. As usual some idiots here try to make it some racial shyt.

Hey I'll be the first person to criticize India for being dirty, overpopulated, obsessed with outdated customs/rituals, etc.

BUT

You dudes in here that try to shyt on India while giving countries in Africa passes for the same shyt :usure:

If you want to get technical, India, dirty as it is, is way more advanced that any country on the African continent in every category and it's not even close. Does this mean Indians are inherently superior to Africans? No, it doesn't but it does mean a lot of you need to smarten up and get a reality check. Being willingly ignorant will get you nowhere.

Exactly. But an inferiority complex is all it is. It's sad, but this is the kind of behavior some people have to engage in to establish some self-worth.

For the average American, losing 30 pounds would be a good thing :russ:

And your co-worker must have been living in some slum if that was the case.

You're going to limit yourself based on stereotypes? Especially when I'm sure that your travels taught you that each country has its slums and luxuries - and everything in between.

I am not a fan of staying in South Asian big cities for long (can't stand the crowds), but there is a lot of affordable luxury available outside of the cities too. You just need to do your research beforehand. I drank bottled water, avoided the street vendors, I never got sick. Spas, jet stream showers, massages, runway fashion shows, lounges, etc - whatever floats your boat is all there. You can try beach towns too, but my favorites in both South Asia and East Africa tend to be vacation homes or resorts on the country and mountain side.

I would do anything to stay in these two places:

Vivanta by Taj - Madikeri, Coorg

Hotels in Udaipur, Luxury Hotel in Udaipur, India, The Oberoi, Udaivilas, Galleries Tours Downloads, Udaipur Hotels

I don't know. He's a research scientist. Kinda fukked up if they stationed him in some slum. I didn't ask him too much because I don't really like dude.

You see ignorant shyt like this all over this site, that's why I don't really seriously discuss anything outside of higher learning. If people were talking about how sub-saharan Africans are "filthy people" everyone would get all butthurt.

It's like dudes think it's okay to shyt on and generalize every race or group people except black people...excuse me, black men. Black women are fair game. Then if you make the slightest indication of generalized criticism of black people, you're a c00n and you need to be banned.
