based on average americans savings, yes. For me, it has been a long time coming to get here. 3 years ago I was broke, WAY upside down on a car note (coli was hard on me for this :to: http://www.thecoli.com/threads/getting-straight-raped-by-this-auto-loan-i-recently-signed.41266/) and working a temporary job paying 9 bucks an hour. I'm not here to boast or brag just to show progress.

@GunRanger roth ira will likely be after 6k mark so I can start with 1k from that to start it up. My current job doesn't offer it.

:salute:always good to hear success stories on the coli

We want that "I just stacked 10k" thread in thecoli in 6 months though :ufdup:don't disappoint breh

Thanks! But I'm looking like these other dudes with more should be setting the bar higher by posting their accounts up. It will inspire us all to save better :manny: Just seeing another man with 90k in savings can inspire others to save as well. Knowing this, I made the thread in hope to inspire, not brag ( nearly repped and dapped the entire 1st page) . Looks like most can see that so :salute:to all

How can we make are money grow without touching it tho :lupe:

Check out high interest money market accounts. With money market account, when you put in x ammount of dollars, lets say 2,000 and the limit is 1,000 to open; if you go lower than 2,000 you will get charged. It helpes you save and keep track to make sure you do not drop past 2,000.

I used a big chunk for a down payment for a NEW car, I regret doing that. :jbhmm:

I used a big chunk of it to pay off my school loans. Felt great getting outta that. :whew:

good job I'm assuming you are a young breh....if not you need higher expectations

I don't understand people that say this. Having any type of savings near the 3k mark is RARE and GREAT compared to the vast majority of people...trust me, I know. There are a lot of people flexing, but have a shyt ton of financial issues associated with said flexing.

Now its $3250.14

Basically, how most people play games on their phones, I do the same with my money. Let me explain. When I'm just sitting around, ill (restaurant, library, waiting room, home etc) login to my mobile banking app and just take chunks out of my checking at a time. For example, Ill see 321.93 in my checking and take out eithe 21.93 making it 300, 6.93 making it 315 or even as small as 1.93 making it 320 remaining (have an obsession with complete even/odd numbers:manny:) based on my expected use of funds. Basically, I charge myself microtransactions like banks do overdraft fees...I figured a while back that I could just do that shyt to myself and keep the funds :pachaha:

Who you bank with? I know with wells fargo there's automatic drafts you can set to be taken out daily, weekly, monthly etc. Also, there's a feature if you spend money using your checking account, you get one dollar sent to savings account. It adds up breh.
