Nikkas already in here like "hip hop is dead brehs :mjcry:" fukk up
these old nikkas in shambles
just enjoy the music
The music is terrible :mjcry: honestly I listen to IFRTITL about 2 times and told all my folks that this shyt is weak. I could tell by the sound of the lyrics that something was different. Not that any of his albums were great but I could tell the direction on that one was off. Now I know why
the thing is, ghost said in that excerpt that it's something they did all the time for years...method man also wrote songs and verses for ghost, and it's well known most of ODB's album was written by gza and rza...if the whole camp was writing entire songs for each other, how is that any worse than OVO nikkas writing songs for each other?

we don't know how many songs rae wrote for ghost either :manny:

i'm sure there is a reason why he wasn't on rico's credits but he was on every other song's credits

it probably wasn't originally meek's song or some shyt, but i'm not gonna pretend to know or care :manny:
that's really all you needed to say right there. I got to question how this dude is the supposed Poster of the Year. You have been a damn :troll: since the damn :hamster: days. You really do represent the new era of "rap" fans.

nikka no it's not. I been a studio engineer for 15 years and a writer/performer for even longer and it is NOT standard practice for one nikka to record a track and then the next nikka study it and try to imitate it. That's some girl gay shyt for real. Yeah nikkas probably are done it but from a true hip hop standpoint it's frowned upon...point blank.

:childplease: ive been competitively running for the past 20 years but i aint no professional runner nikka

ask ANY professional musician or performer of ANY genre

even musicians use reference tracks to play piano, guitar, etc

its common practice homie :yeshrug:

how did drake try to cover it up? the man's name in the credits and liner notes :dwillhuh:

You read the liner notes before this whole thing jumped off?
You knew who Quentin Miller was?

so if drake admitted he had quentin write whole verses/songs for him like ghost did in this interview, it would be cool?

Yep. It's simple really...

@biscuitsnbangers you didn't know this?
What made you...let's say "discover" this article?

It doesn't exist. Rae just wrote the entire song, and asked Ghost to say certain parts.

It's not like the Drake thing, but just play along breh. We gotta give the Drake stans a little rope to hang themselves with.

Fred.

well QM had a lil name already in atlanta as a rapper, it's not like drake just went to a bakery and plucked this nikka from behind the counter

he was largely irrelevant and spent most his time writing demos and shyt and circulating them around the city

drake heard some of his shyt and brought him on board, worked with him in the studio and collaborated on some songs

sounds like the same thing to me :sas1:

beyond that tho, how we givin ghost a pass for method man writing the first verse of cherchez la ghost?

Method Man Says GZA & RZA Wrote Most Of The Rhymes On Ol' Dirty b*stard's "Return To The 36 Chambers"

“Dirty took all their shyt and made it his own and GZA ain’t say shyt,” he continued. “Most of [Dirty’s verses] was GZA’s shyt. I remember GZA and ODB got in an argument one night and GZA was like, ‘nikka most of that shyt you say on your fukking album is mines anyway!”

He did state that ODB wrote some of the songs, including “Brooklyn Zoo,” and stated that he himself wrote the first verse on Ghostface Killah’s “Cherchez La Ghost.”

i wonder if ghost even put meth on the credits :sas2:

how do you apologist not understand the difference between sharing lines/ideas vs. commissioning someone to craft a flow, concept and write a verse(s)?

when your homies are throwing you ideas, they don't hit the booth and crank out a full reference for you to model after.

I honestly don't get this at all.

It's like: do people not know anything about how art is created? There is a HUGE difference between an editor, a collaborator and a sole creator. Massive. Reference tracks fall into sole creator territory.

If you have reference tracks for Ghostface made up entirely by Rae or one of his weedcarriers, then your argument would have weight.

Otherwise, STFU

the same song was on the Fresh soundtrack before Cuban Linx

so it was ghostwriting since it wasn't a Rae album right? :sas1:

but when it got put on Cuban Linx, it wasn't ghostwriting anymore :sas2:

shut your flabby ass up
