Don't really remember this rumor back in the day. Would have liked to see it though but i believe Iverson and T-Mac wouldn't have been able to co-exist during that point in time. Both were young and both wanted to be the best player on a team. This sounds good in perspective but ego's probably get in the way and ruin a potentially good thing.

TMac would've went from being in vince's shadow to being in AI's shadow. He needed his own team to establish himself and showcase his talents cause up until that point he was slept on and seen as a sidekick.

That first season with ORL and esp that playoff series against MIL was his coming out party.

He had Stackhouse and Derrick Coleman.

But Stackhouse didn't want to share the spotlight and Coleman was on the downside of his career. Both were gone after Iverson's 2nd season.
DC wasn't on the downside. He was only like 27/28 when the Sixers got him. He just didn't have the desire to be as good as he could have been. He actually would have been the perfect second option for Iverson since he didn't care about being the focal point. Iverson is my dude but he had his faults as well when it came to sharing the ball even if the Sixers didn't do the best job at getting him help at least they tried. They drafted or traded for Tim Thomas Larry Hughes Toni Kukoc Dikembe Keith Van Horn Glenn Robinson and Chris Webber. All or most of these players were good players in the league yet none could make it work with Iverson. It's no like the 76ers weren't making moves. We just have to admit that maybe AI wasn't so quick to want to give up the ball or let some of those other players develop. Maybe he was just as much an issue as the players they were getting. As much as i love Chuck he only went to the playoffs half the time he was in Philly and only had one 50 win season in a weak East.
