I remember him saying that he either had a cold or laryngitis when he recorded the song. He was telling the producers he was done.

I knew he wrote it back then.
I always been fascinated by music production so I use to read the booklet in the tapes and CDs to see who did what.
I know it sounds corny.
But I heard Joe's version a few years later making an R&B CD for someone off Limewire.
I figured myself it was known by now it was originally Joe's song.

Joe wrote the song or is a co -writer. More than likely he gave it to case to run with and use as first single for his album.

Joe's version is more of a demo, he was a cowriter on this one, I believe.

So his version is basically a reference track. Hence why all the empty space witb lack of adlibs. A fully fleshed out Joe version would've been crazy
