I know somebody who did this. She let most of the family come in from 3 states away and sit there through all the names waiting. I never understood how not telling your family and letting them waste money on hotels and gas was better than being honest and admitting you were partying so hard you flunked out of college. She took pictures with them in a cap and gown before and then ducked out while everybody was marching in to be seated. She has a job with the state now and I don't think she ever got a degree not even from an online school. Now that I think about it she was using the money for tuition to have fun so that's why she was ashamed to tell her folks she blew the money and lied for a year.
