This is my lil sisters school logo, and they are named the Patroits. These mothafukkas actually took the exact name and logo and used it for their school.
They did suspend lil sis for 2 weeks for her first fight ever and tried to give her an assault charge when it was the white girl who threw the first punch. They ain't charge the white gitlrl with shyt. fukk them crackers. I'm telling

It'd be too hard for the thousands of schools across america to come up with an original mascot. But what they could do is take one already in place and make it their own. There's way too many schools for the NFL to go after all of them.

Yeah. I guess this is why they released the statement dude posted on the 1st page. I think they may have tried to back in the days though. Once they found out thousands of schools did it, they had to fall back.

Technically, it could be infringement, but there's two things: a school could get permission from the trademark holder to use the mark, or holder is aware but doesn't give a damn because it would look very petty to send a cease and desist letter to a high school for using their logo. Unless they feel the school is tarnishing their mark because of something bad happening, they'd just rather let it go than to ever care about any kind of legal action.
I never thought about it, but that's pretty much how it is. DPS schools don't really do it, but most of the the schools in the burbs do.When I think about Detroit high schools, all of their shyt was not copied from major sports. Most Detroit schools have original shyt. My sis goes to school in the burbs so I never really paid attention til now
I also was surprised when I first saw a none DPS varsity jacket. Them shyts were/are swagless and plain as hell. Went out to dinner last night and saw a young dude with his varsity jacket on out here in Dallas and it made me realize Detroit is the only place where I've seen jackets with more than just the bland ass patches. Non Detroit coli members, do any other cities/schools have personalized designs on their varsity jackets?

Its more of a new school thing because most highschools ACTUALLY predate professional teams...older suburbs (like my alma mater Ann arbor pioneer) is all original shyt...plain but original.

Detroit has always been known for creative arts so I'm guessing students from way back in the days (white or black before the white flight from the city) created the logo's themselves and the schools chose the best ones. I know one thing, all the east side schools logos and team names are colder than the west side
