Alex got 23 tds to 6 interceptions 226 ypg, he plays smart and lets his defense do their job.

Russel Wilson 24 tds 8 interceptions 220ypg, he plays smart and lets his dominant defense do their job.

Don't let your misguided judgement of Alex Smith cloud your judgement. I think both are very good QB's. When you look at them they;re very similar.

I dont hate on Alex Smith at all, I think hes a fine, serviceable quarterback.

By watching the games, you know Russ can make more of a variety of throws compared to him though.

But there it is, in black and white. About 58 percent of Kansas City’s receiving yardage (386 of 669) has come after the catch. The Chiefs have done a decent job of turning some of those short passes into long gains and if that continues, it bodes well for their passing game and offense as a whole.

Protection problems have often forced quarterback Alex Smith to unload the ball to a receiver running a shorter pattern, but the short passing game is also mostly by design. It allows the Chiefs to be efficient (Smith has yet to throw an interception) and play to Smith’s strengths.

Per espn on September 24.

Pretty much. If the Chiefs play the Ravens in the WC, they're fukked.

was reading on football outsiders they are in the running for worst special teams season of all time

Its not fair to cast judgment yet on mccarons ability in the pros but I respectfully disagree strongly on both accounts. Smith gets a ridiculous amount of yardage and td's on YAC (mentioned above and charles has 4 tds on screens alone) and I think its clear that wilson has a better arm, better improvisional skills and arguably more poise than Smith, while being fairly similarly smart in decision making. Not many execs or scouts would take smith over wilson now, even with a small sample size.

you don't think it's a reach to say wilson>smith?

you know damn well they are nothing alike
#'s wise sure, but like dude said charles is getting crazy yac so he really didn't "throw" that many yards last week at least.

I think its a reach to say smith isn't good but not that wilson is better. How much better is another question but I think its pretty clear that he is at least marginally better. In addition to what has been said, wilson could hypothetically fit into more offensive systems than smith and I'd be more comfortable having wilson in a position to get a lot of yards on a drive in short amounts of time than I would smith, who is more reliant on short passes and is athletic, but not as good or as creative of a runner than wilson.

I`ll say Wilson is probably slightly better, but not much.

The comedy of it is this board is that they treat one like a complete bum and the other like a HOFer.

Wilson is a B+ QB, Smith is a B
