ONLY exceptions for GOAT contention besides Nas are G Rap or Rakim

Nas threw a shot at Ra on LFIG... I peeped that joint, its on the track with Mary. His voice also sounds like vintage Nas circa 1997.

This album us tough fellas :manny: Nas showed up

Nas is the goat.

The closest MCs are probably PAC (RIP),

Ghostface (gets no respect)

Scarface (gets no respect)

Jay-Z (obvious)

Rakim ( discography and influence has tailed off tremendously)

Ice Cube (discography and influence had tailed off tremendously IN MUSIC*)

KRS One ( discography and influence has tailed off tremendously)

Snoop ( Discography has tailed off tremendously)

Eminem ( discography has tailed off tremendously)

Snoop dropped one to many shaky albums. He is still a great artist but much of it is due to his legendary genesis. The Chronic is arguably his album, Doggystyle, Tha Last Meal, Blue Carpet Treatment are great albums. His influence on hip hop is undeniable. He is always going to be a goat contender if he continues to find ways to reinvent himself but the albums are become way to redundant

Em is the same way. He started off very strong but lately his music is filled with emo ballads and patriotic anthems that leave nikka like

Another reason I'm feeling Nas being #1 is his content isn't forced. He actually lets time go by before he drops albums so there is growth between his projects.

Its really shaping his body of work for the better. Allot of the content is the same but it doesn't feel forced. The brother is going through things that everyday people go through and spitting about it.

nikkas in Paris is dope but most nikkas are getting divorced and raising kids.

To me personally it's Pac but Nas is still capable or dropping more and more work so my opinion one day might change.

MC's competing for Nas's place to me are KRS-One and K-Rino, don't hate on the K-Rino opinion unless his work has been properly heard. I don't judge by fame but by music and K has some amazing music.

I don't judge by popularity but you have to take influence into consideration. Whats the mark your legacy is going to leave. To be number 1 it has to be high.

Allot of MCs are influenced by greats and don't even know it.

I think Scarface & Ghostface are right there in the Nas/Jay discussion.
