it's still winter you moron :dahell:
yeah no shyt...

“Fool’s Spring” is an informal weather term for a brief warm spell in late winter that makes it feel like spring has arrived… but it isn’t actually spring yet. 🌱☀️

After a few warm days, winter weather usually comes back—often with cold temperatures, frost, or even snow. The name comes from the idea that the warm weather “fools” people (and plants) into thinking winter is over.

Typical pattern

In many parts of the U.S. (including around New Jersey), late winter often goes like this:

  1. Fool’s Spring – a few days of warm, spring-like weather
  2. Second Winter – cold snaps return 🥶
  3. Spring of Deception – another warm tease
  4. Third Winter – one last cold push
  5. Actual Spring – when it finally stays warm
People joke about this cycle every year because plants start budding, people wear shorts… then boom—40°F again.

Since you mentioned it being around 81°F in early March recently, that’s a classic Fool’s Spring situation. 🌡️ It feels like April or May, but cold weather can still come back for weeks.

If you want, I can also explain why these fake springs happen meteorologically (the jet stream patterns behind them). It’s actually pretty interesting.

say you don't know what a term means without saying it brehs :deadrose:

It wasn't quite 80 here, it was like 79 or something like that, but it was close. Next day shyt was 40. Pushing them trash cans out to the curb; thought I was gonna do that shyt in some short sleeves and shorts till I felt that wind chill on my limbs :heh:
