The risk vs reward system of this game is so off lol



Im traveling across these huge platforming sections, fighting these secret mini bosses and they just give you some beads or shards that you end up eventually losing anyway. I’m not even getting any cool charms or anything to experiment with. Literally nothing they’ve given me since the glider has been very useful in making the game any easier

Theres some stuff in this game that is just deliberately frustrating. Like having to pay for benches, and having limited use of your tools. One of the only advantages needle has over the knight is her tools and you don’t even have access to them most of the time. They should at least refill at the bench without shards, but everything in this game is money gated.

This game is cool but i honestly feel like i had more fun with shinobi
I'm saying though

Sharpened needle, tool damage up one with poison, and enemies still take more hits than they should to die.

Bosses drop absolute nothing. No shards, no rosaries, nothing.

Damn near every enemy and boss in the game is flight-based and you don't even get the double jump until a ways into Act 2 apparently.

You need more than 3 people to make a game and this shows why. These dudes were smelling each other farts for 7 years :francis:

Devs: how about we fill this little room or tunnel with 3 flying enemies that Richochet projectiles and give one of them a 3 hit combo, also each one should take at least 4-6 hits to kill:jbhmm:

Worst part is, you can't even eat the hit and move past it because practically everything hits for 2 masks and the devs apparently don't understand i-frames.

Seriously, there have been times I've died because I take more damage than I want because I'm stuck in place after being hit. :gucci:

And I can't forget, contact damage in the worst way possible.

You actually stun a flying enemy, knocking them out of the sky. They land on top or right beside you for 2 damage :why:

Exactly why I have zero qualms about adding some QOL mods to my pt, teleport to benches, auto refill tools, a couple others.

The game is cool but its FAR too much aggressive annoying game design at play on a vanilla file for me to deal with and not get pissed off. The whole dark soulsification of this shyt is in like direct opposition of what a metroidvania should be about (exploration)

It’s wild cause even fromsoft moved away from a lot of these annoying design tropes with elden ring

You have to always be moving and calculate your distances perfectly for when to do what attacks as to not get hit back as well. They really stress Hornet's superior mobility to the Knight's and that's the expectation of how they want you to play the game. It can be frustration tho so it does make it more difficult/challenging. I'm mostly alright with it tho.

Most annoying shyt is just an enemy falling on you and hurting you. Just running into them is more dangerous than their actual move set
