Yikes. The first game was balanced perfectly in terms of difficulty in my opinion. This one kicks you in the nuts for no reason and it's a shame because it detracts from a beautifully told story and a minimalist but interesting protagonist.

I played but didn’t finish the first one cause i knew this was coming and decided I might as well put my energy into this one.

Seems a lot of people who played the first are bothered by them ramping everything up.

Like certain things you expected toward the end of the game are fukkkng you up way too early.

For me, it’s challenging, but it all feels good. Only a couple spots i’ve felt they made this shyt too hard just for the sake of it.

Going into act 3 now and i can say this game is GOAT level shyt.

The challenge is thoughtfully presented and for every moment i’ve felt hopeless, when i make it through i feel it was all worth it(except grol the great, that was actually bullshyt, fukk him, and fukk the devs for that shyt)

Game is such a great experience for people willing to dedicate some time/energy to it.

Yeah... after 80+ hours and beating it twice, this is one of the greatest games ever made.

For those struggling in Act 1, it's usually because you took a suboptimal route. Prioritize your movement abilities, Go to Bellhart-- don't take detours, use map pins, get reaper crest early for easier time navigating. Even if you're used to the Hunter pogo, Reaper is built for exploring the map. Hunter is probably the best for most fights, though you can through Wanderer and some of the others.

Kinda been stuck in Act 2. Struggling with the high hall gauntlet. Only attempted the unraveled a few times and decided to come back. I need to get away from Reaper, but the move set is so good; however, it forces you to be too safe.
Reaper is just too slow for the mobs. You get a Cogfly tool above the arena (you might have to go back from the entrance of High Hall to get there) that makes the fight a lot easier especially with those annoying ass flying mobs.

Reaper crest is overrated. shyt is weak and slow. Even its biggest crutch of its easier down attack is bested by Wanderer and Architect crest if you need easier pogo bouncing attack. I throw that Reaper crest to the bushes almost as soon as I got it. Weak ass shyt.

Is it really worth it to find all these fleas for the last oil?? :why:
I'm pretty much at the end and just wrapping shyt up. Stumbled on a quest and now I'm cursed. Haven't played since then. I don't know the damage numbers but I wish I had found it for whatever extra damage I could have had for the Karmelita fight. I could only imagine the final boss the be harder. Plus if you're in my boat, some of the fleas are in new maps with useful resources and tools.

Getting the double jump ability is fukking madness, that was a platforming nightmare :damn:
It really wasn't tho. I only died like once or twice in that entire region. The hardest platforming challenge sections in the first game was harder than that climb. Hell, one of the challenge room challenges in this game was harder than this one.

Then u sir are a prodigy of platforming. :salute:

Most ppl are gonna have problems on that section, its not impossible but that's a hell of a skill check to get a required ability. It will make u better tho, I learned alot going through that

The biggest factor of it is the weather mechanic tied to it. Which makes you have to be swift. If you're either intuitive or map out sections of the route, it becomes pretty easy afterwards.

The ability itself isn't really required for beating the game. Moreso just to make it easier and to access certain, non-essential upgrade items via previously inaccessible areas.

Game isn’t that “hard” if you stay ahead of things with the upgrades/tools available at any moment,

I guess it can be compared to playing souls games with help/mimic or beating them straight up.

You chose the difficulty in this game based on how much work you are willing to put in :ehh:

Act 3 took a little too much to unlock, wasn't that fun to do imo.

Act 3 itself is good though. Karmelita was hard but nothing crazy. I haven't fought the final boss of Act 3 but everything else in this game was on the same level as Hollow Knight, I still.dont get the "they upped the difficulty a lot" take.
