The last thing videogames needs to worry about is realistic graphics. The hyper focus on graphics is part of what killed the industry in the first place

Video games have a "These games are boring and repetitive" problem, not a realistic graphics problem

"Worry About" or not "Worry About" realistic graphics, wasn't the "Point".

Generative AI and its applications to Entertainment is.

Games being "Repetitive and Boring", is contingent on the developers, and the mechanics they add/(don't add) to a game.

Super Mario Bros, on the original NES is still playable and "Fun", regardless of the graphics, but that is ONLY due to good game design.

Also Generative AI will make its way as post-processing filters on Video games(Regardless of who "Worries" about it), the early steps of that are already in place.

But who is paying to watch AI acting?

If the content is good, who wouldn't watch? Seeing as Capitalism and shareholders sucks talent out of everything, there's nowhere to go but up for A.I.

And then you have the realize the content doesn't have to be good. Americans consume trash entertainment all day, especially if it's cheap.:jbhmm::sas2:

shyt, i would. Imagine if they could cast all your favorite movie stars past and present into a film. Every character even down to the background extra is some a list superstar. That would be cool asf to me. Obviously i understand why actors would be against it. But i don't understand why the fans would be against AI in movies. Give me some more bruce lee movies idgaf

Mouths too in sync...

Still a way to go.

Seems like something is always going to seem "off" about A.I.

You always could make movies

Good luck with getting distribution/marketing/having your contracts in line so you actually can make a profit tho :yeshrug:

Except they're not, your probably thinking about the top 1% of actors who take in millions for roles and completely ignoring the other 99% who make modest money and then have to stretch it out until they get booked for their next gig
Wasn’t the last actors strike because the studio wanted the rights to use low level actors image with AI for free and they said no if you use my image you got to pay me.

Until it isn’t :francis:

I think in about 5 years we won’t be able to tell the differences

I think there will always be something off
Right now A.I. can't pull off enough randomness. If you create a big enough scene I think that will always be the case. Nobody will do anything the exact same way.

2 leaves won't even move the same way in the wind.

Realistic physics might be an issue at times also.

Yeah but it sounds like you have more freedom to go wherever you want instead of the few executives who gate keep.
