Survivorship bias. Every technological innovation doesn't become the iPhone breh

Ironically those years of content being pumped into AI has already plateaued and now the AI is just running around in circles. The devs have been talking about this for a minute.

AI is still at the mercy of its inputs, and the lack of creativity of those doing the inputting is where the problem lies

I'm not even completely against AI. I use Deepseek everyday. But nikkas are doing all of the prophesizing and none of the analysing thinking filmmakers are suddenly about to become obsolete
It's not going to happen tomorrow, and the OP title is just to get engagement. But people acting like over time this won't disrupt filmmaking are being naive.

There will be an ethical and moral fight around this among filmmakers and executives for these studios, but eventually there will be a film or a show that breaks through that tests the audience's sentiment on whether or not they care if what they watched was generated or made traditionally.

I remember this article just last year...

Fast forward to now and this stuff has gotten even better and will keep getting better. Films will not just go away, but AI is already being implemented in multiple areas in the filmmaking process today. I don't see that slowing down or going away ever at this point.

Ai models will have skill in how they can convey an image to an audience.. like how it can illicit a certain emotional reaction from an audience. Like if a reasoning model wonders how it can inspire awe or exhilaration from an audience and brainstorm over numerous aspects and attributes of a frame.

Netflix been using machine learning for years to find out what customers like for instance which scene do they rewind and playback the most and why etc. google has that data wth YouTube.

Go ahead and enjoy watching AI skill, if that’s going to get you off

Give me a Daniel Day Lewis or Denzel monologue any day over watching some AI cutting a speech :mjlol:

It's not comparable to sports IMO. We've all watched animated films/shows because it's about the visuals and the storytelling.

Sport is completely different
:mjlol:

Imagine dudes pulling up to the bar to watch an AI generated football game. Man what? Nah
Animation is still created by humans. A more apt comparison would be watching esports. The visual is artificial, but the human skill and competition is still there.

I still disagree. Esports are still skill based. People tune in for the competition. I'm not seeing the correlation with generated sports at all... essentially removing the human competition element completely from the equation makes the experience something else.

My point is I don't think people wouldn't pay to watch an AI generated film just like they wouldn't pay to watch AI generated sports.

Exactly. Ask these same dudes if they would watch AI generated sports. The whole point is seeing human achievement and creativity.

Maybe unfortunately, but society has been moving further away from human interaction and connection.
Go to McDs, place your order at the machine by yourself.
You get the picture.
Next up, entertainment with zero real humans.
People already love the idea.
“Because humans suck.”

People are literally using a.i for role playing and writing. There are creative writing benchmarks for various llms. Mastering facial expressions and random human ticks is the next frontier.

Imagine anyone pulling up to the theater to watch AI act :mjlol:
When reality is blurred to the point that there is no way for you to know what's generated with AI or not is the point that I'm getting at that you clearly cannot comprehend.
