Holocaust doing drugs and falling off is one of the worst tragedies in Hip Hop

Ghostface verse is better.

Holocaust was dope, and its a shame what happened, but that one verse is his best verse that he ever spit. Meanwhile Ghostface has what I'd consider to be a better verse on that very same song, and which isn't even generally considered one of Ghost's top 10 verses.





Also second the opinion that Holocaust likely wouldn't have necessarily excelled that much on a proper solo album anyway. But he did definitely deserve alot more shine on posse cuts with other dope rappers.

Thats what those Wu Killa Beez compilations should've been: wayyyy more posse cuts showcasing the best of em all clashing. Shoulda been 4 or 5 appearances each for the doper undercards like Holocaust & Killa Sin & Inspectah Deck & Cappadonna that had unfulfilling solo careers but would have kept killing it on more posse cuts

That last joint you posted “40s and Blunts” is Holocaust at his best.

Them songs from his albums Nightmares That Surface Shallow Sleep and Smugglin’ in the Graveyard weren’t good at all. I remember getting those albums in the 2000’s and being so disappointed

Na you buggin. Rest of the album sure. But not those joints. They are the last vestige of what he had left with good production atleast that fit the vibe he was putting out.

The last song (raw head spear) is howling wolves freestyle session which is top 5 from him alone. Mighty king of swords with the classic priest track.

He dont have any solo joints better than the ones above. Last hovering castle over the cilvaringz joint is a wu fam classic.

Rest of those albums? Sure. Cept BSBD

Another gem

there are parts of those first two albums where you can tell were recorded before he completely fell off, like Raw Spear Head. that's pre fall off Holocaust

like the intro of Smugglin Booze sounds more like old Holocaust compared to the very next song, "Smugglin' Booze"

but overall, those albums were a MAJOR let down.

his vocal tone is even different post fall off. he spits in a higher pitch and his flow is gone.. (ex: Castle Freak of Bone Romania)

Y'all go overboard with how good he was

His early guest verses were fire but his style was best served in small doses IMO

Even early on his shyt was too weird and leftfield to really make an impact. He was way more bugged out than Killah Priest who is himself a very niche artist

I don't see any version of Holocaust making a great album. Some rappers are best on the sidelines in groups or guest spots.

His voice, the flow, the cadence, and his West Coast accent all was significant to what made his such a dope emcee.
