Regardless of how much money K.I (3.2 million snes carts sold) made back in it's day , it's been dwarfed by numerous franchises after that since it's heyday.
How else would you pay for it? They said you have options for buying the game. At full retail price for the complete game or a la carte where you pick and choose. You can pay anywhere from 0-60 for the game depending on the character you want to play with.
How this is a bad thing I don't know. So far it sounds like a good business model for example fighting game genre.

I'm only hype to hear ULLLTTTRRAA!!! aside from that the game is/has been ass cheeks.
I consistently place top 16 in umvc3 when I decide to travel and I think this shyt looks like ass and KI has always been huff.

the only cutback for KI are the characters. You're essentially playing the complete single player game with one character. In Drive Club, you are limited to a number of tracks and cars.

KI is not meant to be technical, it is made to have over the top combos, combos that go on for miles and miles. this game actually looks toned down from what i remember. i have KI Gold, and though i havent played it in a decade or more, this new game looks slower paced.
the graphics look good, especially all those sparks that seem to have real weight to them. the clipping is a little jarring, though. for a downloadable launch game, it looks pretty good. it will probably be the only next gen fighter for a while.
