Authorities on Thursday morning executed a search warrant at the Burlington County home of a New Jersey couple who raised $400,000 for a homeless veteran through a highly-publicized GoFundMe campaign last year.

Authorities searched the Florence Township home of Mark D'Amico and Katelyn McClure "in connection with a criminal investigation" into what happened to the $400,000 raised for Johnny Bobbitt in a GoFundMe campaign, Burlington County Prosecutor Scott A. Coffina said Thursday. "As of this time, there have been no charges filed."

Bobbitt's lawyer, Christopher C. Fallon, Jr., said Tuesday the money is gone. Jaqueline Promislo, who is also on Bobbitt's legal team, said the warrant was not in connection to their client's civil suit.

"Our case is a civil case so that would be beyond our authority to execute a search warrant. We are just working on a discovery at this time," Promislo said.

The couple's attorney, Ernest Badway, declined to comment when reached by NJ Advance Media on Thursday.

Bobbitt had filed suit against the couple alleging they were withholding the money raised to get him back on his feet. The search warrant was executed a day after the couple attempted to invoke their fifth amendment right during a hearing on civil suit.

McClure and D'Amico started the GoFundMe for Bobbitt in November 2017 after McClure ran out of gas on I-95 in Philadelphia. Bobbitt, who was homeless, gave her gas money and the couple later returned to find a way to help him.

Since then, the couple has come under fire when Bobbitt claimed he had not received most of the money. He said he was forced to file a lawsuit to get access the remaining funds.

Fallon said his client believed there was at least $150,000 left. That money was supposed to be frozen and transferred into a trust until the legal dispute was resolved.

Fallon said he'd only heard the $150,000 amount when the couple appeared on Megyn Kelly Today show last week.

I'm still like 400,000 is way more than the 10,000k they were trying to raise for him.
He could buy his own house and live good for the next couple of years but of course he's homeless for a reason and probably has mental health and drug issues.
I think they saw how much money they raised that was basically going all to him instead of them and thought they could finesse him

You're giving them way too much credit. The boyfriend is reported to be a local on the Philly underground poker scene. They're both degenerates.

Blowing through $400,000 in a few months is unbelievably stupid though.

Just because he's homeless doesn't mean he's stupid. They know how to survive.

Go Fund Me has officially come out and said they were going to give him the $400k.

The couple is still getting investigated and GFM is going to sue the couple to recoup.

HOpe they had fun with that money, not going to have fun when the judge decides to make an example of you; you have to grease palms to get away with stealing $800K
