Two options

ADT

Pros : been around for long, they come install everything

Con : expensive equipment requires monthly fee contract

Simpli Safe

Pro: modern up to date equipment, no monthly fee

Con: requires you setup yourself, you buy piece by piece

I have ADT, have had very few issues but I pay like $90 a month

Above the fray.
Interesting..

Yeah I had ADT at my old crib and they seemed overpriced for what I got. Folks told me I was pretty much paying for the sign in my yard.
oh and about that sign..................
always use a sign different than whatever system you actually have

adt sign just lets them know what they're up against

We have security cams, which are hidden ...and dummy cams in plain view for the same reason

*dummy is a fake camera

Basically this.

The ADT salesman, he's going to want you to sign up for every option. That's his job. Just get what you want though. See if you are eligible for discounts.
The ADT installation guy is different. He just comes in to install the sensors and control pads. I had ADT installed years ago. Dude installed everything nice and clean. Totally professional job.

Do you have a home with a telephone service and you don't want to replace batteries every couple of years on every sensor? Get ADT.
Do you have a home with no telephone service and not mind replacing batteries on all the sensors? Get Simplisafe.
Do you have a home with poor cell phone reception? Get ADT.

The batteries in Simplisafe sensors aren't run of the mill AA or AAA. You need to get special lithium ion 123A and they cost more, but last a long time.
