I didn't say "so what" I said i respect the fact that some people find it offensive.

As you say code language exists. Like the way the word "thug" is thrown around to reference young black folks. I get that, but that doesn't mean I'm gonna think EVERYONE who uses the word is a racist, nore do I think it should be eradicated from everyday language.

And furthermore that code language we fight against as real social implications IE Michael Brown was a "thug" therefore his death was justifiable.

I don't see any clear negative social implications of using the word female over woman.

the clear negative social implication is that females are nothing more than sexual objects so their mistreatment is justifiable.

Do you hear how females talk to each other....seriously this is bullshyt....guess I need to find something to be fake outraged about to fit in... Its not going to get you the puss...shyt is homotional....

"Do you hear how those ******s talk to each other? :mjpls:"

And if you don't have time to think about things you must not be very good at multi-tasking. and :laff: at everything that takes the side of women having to do with getting puss. Everything taking the side of black folks must be about rap huh? :sas2:

The Problem With Calling Women 'Females'

one of the best reasons and I've never given it much thought until my sister @CinnaSlim made this point.

1. Because the words "female" and "woman" mean different things.
"Female" is a scientific term that refers to the sex of a species that is capable of producing children. The term "woman" refers specifically to human beings, while "female" could refer to any species.
where the fukk is the offense though?

i mean i guess i could see that :heh: i always thought it was the context, i.e. telling someone like 'thats a female trait' usually has a negative connotation

but just being male or female doesnt dehumanize anyone :dead:

no one is saying that the word female shouldn't be used, what they are saying is that when referring to HUMAN females, refer to them as WOMEN. very simple.
It is simple but you're making it very complicated at the end of the day women are female there's nothing disparaging about calling a woman a female and no matter how you try and word your message it's clear that you're attempting to stigmatize a word that currently holds absolutely no sexist stigma.

That part was more geared to the other quote. But even still, not using a word that offends literally more than half of the population of Earth isn't the end of the world. :manny:

And the coded language against women has led them to being objectified for literally since time immemorial. It reduces them to incapable and or sexual objects...I mean its gone on for so long that most of us can't even see it...

its like the Arrow in the Fed Ex logo.

Agreed.

But I'm a respectful, mostly courteous person. Most people are not.

I also acknowledge that slang/improper speech exists and I'm not into dictating how other people use it. Even if I wouldn't use it myself:manny:

But that has nothing to do with calling them females instead of women.

dehumanizing someone has real world implications, thinking of women as sexual objects and not human beings with emotions and value has real world implications.

Fox News could literally say "he was Black" instead of "he was a thug" and elicit the exact same response from white people who think the terms are synonymous.
