In Brazil, reparations were discussed regarding the freeing of the slaves, of course. BUT NOT reparations to the slaves, nobody ever thought of giving them shyt. Reparations were promised to the SLAVE OWNERS, the government swore they'd pay them money for each slave they'd previously owned. Loss of property and shyt.

Of course, that shyt didn't actually happen, but if it did, it would've been such a fukking travesty.
