I feel the TS on this one. Mainly because 100k a year isn't really no money. That's in the middle money, enough to isolate yourself from the hood, but you still can't fit in with the big dogs. I was making over 100k, work my azz off. Losing all my friends and never having time to do anything. I took a 21k paycut last summer for a less stressful, easy job. And it was definitely worth it.

Hoodrats are just fun and not as demanding as some of these career women.

First of all... I would never lease a car unless I absolutely have to, and I damn sure wouldn't lease 2. I'm gonna keep driving this 07 Honda Accord that's paid for until I get the money to get the car I want next (probably Audi A6 or Infiniti G27).

I refuse to pay $800 a month on a car that I really have no rights to, and that there's probably a limit to how much I can drive it in a given amount a time... especially since I travel a lot.

Bruh... ain't nobody listening to no rap music financial advice. My mother is a mortgage loan officer (VP), and has been in banking/finance for 20+ years. That's where I get my financial knowledge from.

1. I don't know that I would be getting a new car every three years. And even if I did, I probably wouldn't buy brand new. I would probably buy 1-2 year old model, unless there was some new model that I just fell in love with.

2. Since my credit is good I would get a low interest rate (we just got a car with 3.25 rate)... then get 6 year financing if I don't plan on keeping it the entire time. After I trade my car in, I would be paying a lower monthly payment than you, and I can do whatever I want with my car. That way if I choose to keep it for a longer period of time, I still have the option to trade it in at a later date.

3. If you take care of a car you can drive it for 5-8 years without it being "busted." It's called routine maintenance.

So at the end of the day we would be paying less than you on a monthly basis.... except I can do whatever I want with my car. I wish someone would tell me I can drive my car more than 30K miles.

What the problem is... when we get more money, we change our lifestyles to match the money we're making.

If you wanted to, I'm sure you could revert back (at least somewhat) to the way you were living before, and save twice as much money as you did before. Get a cheaper house/apartment that's not as nice. Go get a used car that just gets you from point A to point B. Eat lower quality food, that's cheaper.

And I could do that too... but I won't. Because I'd rather live more comfortably and healthy in more aspects of life, with a few more bills, than go back to the way I was living because it requires less responsibility and I save a larger PERCENTAGE of my money.
