Hooking up 2nd wireless router question

Will adding a second router improve signal quality throughout my apartment? Right now, I have one in my living room, but I'd like to have one in my bedroom as well. What is the best/easiest way to do this?

I have the Asus AC68 and the AC66 hooked up to it as a wireless bridge. The setup for that was in the manufacturers firmware so depends on which routers you buy.

I have 3 routers set up in my house... The main router is in the basement. The other 2 I have setup as access points.... make sure you change your settings and take the channels off of auto... get a wireless analzer app from goggle play ... find out which signals are broadcast in your area... then choose a channel with the least signal... this will cut down on your interference from other apartment and etc.

If you are living in a apartment, there is no need for another WAP. Just go to the settings in your router and increase the broadcast signal. Also, try placing it in a central location. Keep in mind, if you increase the broadcast, you run the risk of having others spoof your mac address to hop on your network. They can also crack the security if your using WEP (Use WPA2, or WPA at the least).

Trust me, it's alot easier to break into a wireless network than the wired ethernet standard.

Also, if you decide to go with more than one WAP, then spread out the channels. The standard is 1, 6 and 11... use those three. If you have two, then only use 1 and 11.

Or if your router has 5ghz mode use that ...

the 2.4ghz is already extremely clogged, nikkaz' home phones be cutting off they router.
