not unless you make the midrange shots worth 3 pts as well

if youre a volume shooter and shoot 50% from the 2 youre getting the same amount of points as if youre shooting 33% from the 3...you gotta understand that math doesnt lie...and making 3s at 33% if you have a shot is generally easier than shooting 50% from the midrange
So assuming the rockets took 27 2pointers in a row and made half they win this game correct? They took and missed 27 3s and lost by 9

TYRONE GA!
And make the distance equal from no matter where you shoot it beyond the arc

don't see the side/corner threes being removed. better chance of the top end being pushed farther back. We really need court expansion, but that's not happenin.

But there's no justifying making this game endemic of the NBA.

It was a historic fail, not a reflection of every day NBA
Sure it is.

Analytics is the reason why teams settle for threes on a 3-on-1.

Why Curry pursued a 3 and dribbled out the shot clock, instead of blowing by Kevin Love and cutting it to one.

It's why teams are attempting to pace and space w/o having the personnel to do it

Why the Celtics, shooting FT's with 8 minutes remaining, continued to brick 3 after 3.

This has been a problem for few years. The IQ of the game is being stripped away. At times it resembles high-level AAU

My nikka fukk the numbers, basketball isn’t played like that. If your threes aren’t falling, continuously shooting them contested isn’t going to work. In fact it’s one of the dumbest things you can do. Do you play ball? If so, what Is the first thing you do? Not threes! You start with Form shots and work your way back. Same thing. If your shots aren’t falling what do you do? You go to the free throw line and work on your form, free throws off? You get on the block and do form shots. Also long 3s equals long rebounds which means fast break opportunities for the other team. AND Ariza for example was putting a lot of energy on defense which was taxing his knees, analytics don’t factor that shyt. do you think launching 3’s with tired legs is good? There’s too many factors involved in basketball to break things down into numbers and run with it.

7 for 44.

All that math has to go out the window, and common sense has to kick in at some point. There's no justifying missing 37 threes.
in the long run, its worth it and will win games. in the short run, obviously shyt like tonight will happen. to be fair, youre better off asking how 0-27 3s happen at all. thats not a 33% clip lol

Now that I think about it you might be right
I used to always think an nba court was big as shyt till I went to the amway arena then I thought about being being like 6’4 moving around that shyt, I know it has to be super limiting especially on a fast break , with everybody from the 1-4 and now slowly 5 position moving and shooting all over the court it needs to get bigger. It’d help out with isolations, sets, and change up shooting everywhere

no one is saying shooting contested threes. rockets were missing wide open 3s tho. the same wide open 3s that klay hit well tonight :manny:

you flipped a coin 5 times and they all were heads

does that mean if you do it over 100 flips they will all be heads ?
how about 1000 flips ?

the nba average 3pt % isn't 16% (which is what the rockets shot tonight)

the nba average this season is 36.2% from the three point line

again, I have no issue with people hating chucking 3s, but you gotta understand that 3s are worth more and shooting a contested 3 is worth more than shooting the same contested midrange jumper :manny:
