I can only conclude that Sam Smith told MJ that it was Horace so that's why he was confident in naming him. But Will Perdue & BJ pretty much confirmed it. Obviously it wasn't only him (Phil), but I find it hard to believe he wasn't leaking to someone he calls a good friend to this day.
He saw a new, younger Jordan with Shaq in LA with Kobe. That's why he didn't return to the Bulls
