Xbots finally got one , and they running wild with it.

What's crazy is this cross-gen game is more of a jump between versions than say MGS:The Phantom Pain which just merely lowered the resolution/framerate.
it's gonna be interesting when DF compares the two versionsWhat's crazy is this cross-gen game is more of a jump between versions than say MGS:The Phantom Pain which just merely lowered the resolution/framerate.
yeah nikkas using that excuse for everything. I think it would've still been on PS4 because = more $$$$It's hilarious that ppl are saying the pandemic is the reason this game is cross-gen.

To be clear, this has very little to do with graphics: last week’s Horizon Forbidden West footage shows it’s absolutely possible for developers to make their cross-gen games look stunning on the best platform, with increased detail and fancy hair physics.
“As much as the marketing talk would have us think otherwise, most cross-gen games will always need to be compromised in some way to accommodate for the weakest hardware they’re planning to release for.”
The compromise comes from what you don’t see in screenshots; AI, physics, the number of enemies on screen and the size and complexity of the environments. While I don’t claim to be a programming wizard, when I worked on Yooka-Laylee at Playtonic Games, there were frequent conversations about whether certain design ideas would scale to Wii U – our least powerful platform at the time – and thus the scope of the game was always tailored with that constraint in mind.
From the very first entry into the franchise all the way to the latest installment, all tires had a singular contact point with the track at 60Hz. That has changed in Forza Motorsport, which gives each tire 8 distinct contact points running at 360Hz to account for every tire collision. That’s a 48x fidelity jump in a single tire collision
It's on the PS4 because it's smart to be on the PS4. They are in the business of making money and there is more money to be made in having a PS4 version.
The thing that people are simply pointing out is that there wasn't just an implications of separation of 'generations' but they were explicit in their supposed distain of cross gen games.
People also pointing at graphics are missing the larger point.
Forget business sense, Sony’s cross-gen U-turn is disappointing for PS5’s potential | VGC
Same thing with Microsoft as it looks like the next Forza Motorsport is when next gen truly starts for them. There is a ton of stuff that is being greatly expanded on can't be seen in a screen shot.

This is what happens when you aren't tethered to weak jaguar cpus. The games will feel and play better. We will undoubtedly love this game, God of War and others that are cross gen but these aren't games that had their fullest of potentials filled. Far from it in fact
