They've dropped "deluxe" version of their EP & couple of dope videos in 2013 but Ive been too lazy/tired to post any new music here.

I havent gotten around to listening to their new shyt. I was one of the few who bought the firing squad cd. Always wished theyd made a hard copy of their first album because I love that album. Firing squad was ok, a few amazing song like picture of anger though.

that Run This Town freestyle was when I heard it for the first time.

actually their whole "weekly freestyle series" they did before their debut was dope as fukk.

I havent gotten around to listening to their new shyt. I was one of the few who bought the firing squad cd. Always wished theyd made a hard copy of their first album because I love that album. Firing squad was ok, a few amazing song like picture of anger though.

I liked their debut too but to me it was pretty much a mixtape with original beats (actually when Crook announced it for the first time, it was supposed to be mixtape) because they were just goin in & not really that focused on songwritin/song structure like that.

Pimp shyt was definitely one of the better "real songs" on that album though.


Personally for me, that "Firing Squad" album was definitely better than "Gangsta MC" because they actually made real songs & still were rappin their asses off. There's couple of songs I really didn't feel that much but imo it's still a more cohesive/"complete album" than Gangsta MC

after that they've kinda been hit or miss. Ambitionz AZ a Writer mixtape was probably too a lil too long because it had some dope shyt & some ehh songs/freestyles.

And #TrueStory EP imo had only couple of nice songs but the new songs on deluxe edition kinda made the whole EP feel better. I've been bumpin "Ventin" & "Chillin With My Noccas" lately.

I saw Tech N9ne post that "Chillin With My Noccas" video on twitter & say that he definitely needs to work with HSG.


I really like those Ventin & Chillin W/ My Noccas beats too... imo that sound fits their style pretty well

I just feel like the beats on the first album were much better. Watch your mouth alone was better then everything on firing squad. And yeah they might have grown as song writers,but me personally I like hearing them just straight spit and destroy tracks. Seems they lost some of their venom once they tried focusing on song writing.

Yea I can definitely understand were ur comin from. I think they still need to find the balance between destroyin tracks & makin "real" songs. But hopefully puttin out mixtapes & EP's (like they've been doing) before the next album probably helps them to figure it out.
