While I would expect food and drink at a wedding reception...

It ain't their wedding. The only people whose opinions, wants and desires matter at a wedding are the people getting married. Be lucky you got invited.
Your last sentence is not how it works
If you want to stand on that statement
Then the married couple should have stated it explicitly in the itinerary/invitations
They didn’t do that because they knew whole heartedly nobody would come to that shyt
People go to big weddings to turn up, hook up and enjoy themselves
You can spend 6 bands on Mickey/Minnie but not 6 bands to feed your guest
If that ain’t the true definition of hustling backwards/priorities be damned
Coulda took they simple asses to the courthouse and had a destination honeymoon to Disney(both of em) for that 6 bands

How much did they spend for Mickey and minnie ? They must have gotten the official ones from Disney and not the hood ones you see at birthday parties lol.

Stop it breh, this was a multi day destination wedding at Disney world. The guest probably spend 1000s of dollars just to be there, on top of buying them gifts. They said food would be provided by the venue on the invitations, which was misleading since the guest were expected to buy their own food at the venue.

The mickey and minnie appearances were for a private dinner so the guest didn't even get to experience that. They didn't even pay for the wedding, their parents funded the whole thing and they decided to waste the money given to them for catering on some strangers in costumes.

Absolutely agree that they should have at least told their guests during the invite/itinerary explicitly that there would be no food provided to them as opposed to how it was stated.

I just don't care that they spent 6 bands on Mickey and Minnie to be at their wedding/dinner/whatever because they're Disney enthusiasts. It's a waste of money IMO, but it's not my money and they decided that their wedding being memorable to them was more important than paying to feed their guests. The couple's priorities were obviously to make sure that their wedding day was the best it could be, and it sounds like they feel they accomplished that. That's kind of all that matters.

I wouldn't move that way -- I'd much rather a courthouse wedding and have that money go toward a house, honeymoon, etc. If it's up to me I wouldn't have a reception -- but it's their wedding and their funds to do as they please.

Above the fray.
The couple are immature and selfish.
Instead of "traveling to Disney World multiple times a year/ every chance we get"., and having their families help subsidize their wedding, they should have sacrificed to be able to pay for their own nuptials.

Not even bottled water and crackers/chips at the wedding reception?

They are gotdamned self absorbed clowns.
