These clowns just prefer for us to stick to hiring big names in coaching and free agency so they can have reasons to talk about us. They're obsessed with us. It's why this thread is doing numbers and the Dirk Koetter to Tampa thread isnt. It's why a non Eagles fan went out of his way to make this thread where as I'm not sure if a thread about the Titans HC even exists
The thought of us just being a normal, under the radar team for a few years while building our roster back up bums these clowns out because the Redskins are too boring for them and the Giants/Cowboys suck

I would have been good with him but I kinda wanted them to hire Coughlin or someone like that for a year or 2 and let Duece or whoever they wanted to groom move up to OC and apprentice and then take over.I asked this in the Eagles thread and nobody answered, but if you going to hire Doug Pederson why not give Duce Staley a shotBeen coaching there 6 years, what would galvanize the fanbase more than a former player, a fan favorite at that

They only said Tom Coughlin "resigned" for PR purposes. He got canned. Coughlin still wants to coach.
so in another words Staley can forget about ever being a head coach right, not like he can ever answer those questions if he's never given a chance
Eagles brass loves Duce Staley but the transition from position coach to Head coach can take decades
Lot of guys who are HC's now were position coaches back in the 80's.
looks like Pat Shermer and Jim Schwartz will be the coordinators
like Schwartz, who took a year off to work with the league office, but i really dont know what their offensive identity will be. the co's have more experience than the HC, doubt it causes problems but its interesting. this is a really bland hire, fans will get tired of him quick if he doesnt win

he was interviewed for the job opening. im sure Lurie & Howie asked what his plan was for a staff & system. also it seems like Lurie & Howie were set on Pederson. they want to get a another Reid(which i think is wrong). also there isnt a lot of coaches going from position coaches to HC & having instant success. John Harbaugh is one but that is because his GM Ozzie is the GOAT.
